Anybody in the market...

for a new house? EJ and I put our house on the market last week. I know...it seems sudden right? My dad informed me when he found out that buying a house is not the same as buying a pair of shoes. We are well aware of this and though it seems sudden we have been considering moving for quite a few months.
We decided about a year ago that our house was quickly getting smaller. With two dogs in the house they tend to kind of take over the whole house. And we don't have a garage currently and we are slowly but surely accumulating more stuff that needs storage and our attic has reached capacity.
We have been looking at this neighborhood for about a year, but they didn't have a floorplan that made sense for us until recently. We wanted a house we could grow into so we wouldn't be looking for more room 5-10 years from now. The neighborhood knew what we were looking for because we had been in contact with them for the past few months. They called us in early December and told us they had a new floorplan and asked if we would be interested in coming by to look at it, so we went by there and EJ found a lot that he really wanted, so we signed a contract. We are getting to build it from nothing picking out everything from paint colors to cabinets to countertops to floors, which is exciting!
They will start building as soon as we pick out all of our design features and hopefully we will be in by the first of June. So we have six months to sell our house and the tax credit for first time homebuyers is in our favor!
I will be sure to post pictures as the building process takes place. There will be plenty of room for visitors in the new house so please come on by and see us. :)
