Entertaining Us and Herself

We drove down to lower Alabama to see EJ's extended family for a few days during spring break. We had such a good time relaxing and catching up. Ensley enjoyed herself sitting outside and putting on shows for all her cousins and aunts and uncles. I will post pictures from the camera once we get home but for now here is what EJ and I are listening to on the way home. She is just so happy all the time!

Springtime=Baseball

Yesterday was Ensley's first baseball game. We helped daddy by taking admission at the gate. I have an exersaucer in the back of my car and I put her in it for the first hour. Then I put her in the baby carrier for the second hour. She did so good and everybody commented on how good and pretty she was...even the opposing team. I think I could have told people it was $20 per person and some of them would have paid it just because they weren't paying any attention to what I said...they were too busy looking at Ensa Bensa.
At the third inning we closed up the gate and went down to the blanket I had laid out by the fence. She played and laughed and batted her baby blues at everybody that walked by. And every time EJ walked by he caught a glimpse of her with a proud daddy look on his face. So sweet!
I wish I had taken a better picture of her shirt. It says WHS Tigers in zebra print letters. I had the sweet ladies at Friends in Stitches make it for her because you can't find school spirit clothes for babies. I'm sure she will wear it plenty more so I'll get a good picture later.
Anyway, she likes baseball and it's a good thing because she will be spending many many hours at the field during her lifetime.

A few of her favorite things

I want to look back on the blog years from now and be able to see what Ensley enjoyed during periods of her life so here goes...
Songs: For about 2 months (4-6 months old) The Wheels on the Bus and If You're Happy and You Know It would not only stop her in the middle of fussing but make her smile and laugh. She still likes songs and music but her new favorite fun songs are Old MacDonald and BINGO. When she is ready for bed she likes mommy to sing Hush Little Ensley to her.
Books: She has always sat still and watched as I read books. When she was itty bitty we read through her children's Bible. Now her favorite book is Snappy Sounds Moo but she sits through any book and sometimes will turn the page.
Games: She loves peek-a-boo but you have to jump out fast and loud so it scares her or she isn't impressed.
Activities: Bouncing usually occupies her for a half hour or so. We have a jumperoo upstairs and a Johnny Jumper downstairs and she bounces in your arms too.
Learning: Just this past week she has started laughing at animal sounds. We go through everything from what a puppy says to an elephant but the bumble bee gets the biggest cackle out her.
She is still the happiest baby I have ever seen. My sister-in-law says we don't know what it's like to have kids because Ensley is so easy and happy.

Buddies

Ensley and Kala are going to be best buddies in a few more months. Ensley is at the age where she grabs anything that sweeps by her and she has a very firm grip which is not a good combination for Kala's dangly jaws and floppy ears. Nonetheless, Kala is extremely protective of Ensley. Ensley gives a big ole toothless grin anytime Kala comes near her and often grunts at her as if they are talking in their own secret language.

This afternoon we were in the garage and I was getting Kala to do her tricks. Ensley cracked up laughing every time Kala jumped. Kala kind of ruined the fun when she jumped high enough to snatch the treat out of my hand. Watch and enjoy!
