Sunday my co-workers gave us a shower. They were so sweet and gave us the carrier seat we needed to bring little Ensley home from the hospital and lots of other great goodies. The seat is installed and ready to bring Ensley home!!Wednesday night my Sunday school class gave us a shower. It was a good time of fellowship with the youth. The other two ladies I teach with own a store in Lebanon called Friends in Stitches. They have adorable baby stuff and do monogramming so needless to say Ensley will know her name and initials. Here is a precious monogrammed blanket and pillow in the rocking chair EJ recovered.

Good Report!

We had our first exam today at the doctor. I am 1 cm dilated and 70-80% effaced. The doctor was pleased with our health and progress. We go back next Thursday and are hoping for some more progress. Not long now!

We're Ready Whenever You Are

Dear Ensley,
I have enjoyed your stay in my tummy but it seems that you are quickly getting too big for my tummy. We would like to meet you anytime you are ready...don't get too comfortable in there. We have a nice room for you out here and plenty of friends and family that want to meet you as well.

36 weeks

I can't believe Ensley could be here any day now!! We are officially at the mark where if she comes she will be fully developed and ready to meet the world.

I have myself scheduled at work through August 21 even though her due date is the 19th. I am kind of hoping she will come a little early now though. I can't wait to meet her and I can't wait to be able to do normal daily activities without running out of breath and having my feet swell if I am up too long. However I have to say I have been so extremely blessed with an uncomplicated pregnancy, and I am grateful for that. And I know these little inconveniences and uncomfortable moments will be worth it in a few more short weeks.

Ensley is moving a lot but running out of room to move. At our last appointment her heart rate was 170. I guess the maple syrup on my french toast that morning was a little much for her.

Starting with the next appointment we will go weekly until she gets here and start having vaginal exams to see her progress. I'll keep you posted on the progress. :)

Poor Duke!

If you have followed our blog or been to our house for any length of time you know our oldest dog Duke has bladder issues among other things. He pants continuously as if he is going to die of thirst if you don't give him more water...so we generally give him more water but all the water makes him peepee allllll the time. He will literally pee 4-5 times on a 20 minute walk and then come in and 30 minutes later pee on the floor! For all this time we thought he was just old and stubborn.
He had his annual appointment Tuesday and our wonderful vet noticed some recent hair loss along with weight gain and said all of these problems could be due to elevated cortisol level so our champion urinator peepee in a cup for them and sure enough he has Cushings disease. We are going to try some oral medications and see if he improves. Hopefully this will all be taken care of before Ensley gets here and Duke can start living a normal life....otherwise he might not make it as a house dog when Ensley arrives.
