My sweet Papaw

We love you Papaw and we will miss you dearly. I am so thankful to know that my Papaw is in heaven. A friend of my dad's posted on facebook "Nothing is really lost if you know where it is." He was such a precious and loving man who truly cared about others. I am glad he is in a better place with no more tears and no more pain. I will miss him so much but I know I will see him again some sweet day.

Kids say...

The past few weeks Ensley has started telling Kala to come. It is the cutest thing! She pats her knees and says in a very stern voice "Ka-Ka come".

Last night I asked Ensley if she was ready for a bath and she gave the enthusiastic full body nod and ran to the bathroom. She then turned to me, patted her knees and said "Mommy come" in her stern voice. After I recovered from laughing I made it clear that we don't talk to Mommy that way. It is ok to talk to Kala like that but not Mommy and Daddy. Then I said "how should you talk to Mommy?" She said "pease". Work in progress.

I am hoping that if she does it to someone else or to me in public that people won't be able understand what she is saying, but if they do oh well...kids say the darnedest thingsu

And I do!

This was a conversation with Ensley this morning:
Me: what does a bear say?
Ensley: ROAR!
Me: what does a kitty say?
Ensley: MEEEEOW
Me out of curiosity as to what she would say: what does Mommy say?
Ensley: I UH OO (I love you)

And I do so much!

Eighteen Months

Ensley had her eighteen month check up yesterday. She is 24 lbs and 31.2 inches. Her height and weight have started to slow down a little but her head circumference was off the charts at 19.7 inches. I guess it is because she has all of that knowledge to hold in there. She scored perfect in all of the developmental categories except problem solving but was in the high normal range. She is learning that the doctor's office isn't always such a terrible place and that she gets stickers and ice cream when we leave. She is such a joy and I have loved every minute of the last eighteen months!

12 weeks

Ensley and I went to my twelve week check up Thursday. I had prepped her all day telling her Mommy was going to the doctor and we would get to hear the baby's heartbeat. When we got there she was quick to say to every nurse, "Mommy". I don't know if that was to make sure they weren't going to poke on her or not but it was cute. Then if a nurse took time to talk to her she would say,"Mommy baby". She sat like a big girl in the chair while the nurse took my BP and then listened for the heartbeat. We heard it loud and clear right away at 157bpm (which was 1bpm faster than Ensley at 12 weeks). I asked her of she could hear the heartbeat and she said "heartbeat". It was a sweet moment. I know Ensley is going to be a great big sister. Eight more week and we find out if she gets a little brother or sister.

So sweet

Ensley's new sweetest thing:

"Ensley, guess what?"

Ensley: "I uh oo" - I love you.

I have had trouble sleeping for over a week because of sinus congestion so on Sunday EJ let me rest while he took Ensley upstairs. Look what they came downstairs with!! How cute is that!?

Girl fun

Ensley is a girlie girl and she loves her some bracelets (and balls). She also loves her sweet puppy Kala. Kala loves Ensley too mainly because Ensley's favorite thing to do is give Kala a treat. She says "teat Ka-kao". Then we get a treat and she says "sit Ka-kao". Then we make Kala do all her tricks and Ensley gives her the treat and says "guh guh ka-kao"-good girl kala.

Well last night Kala repaid Ensley for all of the treats by playing dress-up with her. Notice the bracelet on kala's right wrist.
