After Wednesday's doctor appointment and Thursday's decision to start leave a little early, I decided to start trying all the old tricks to induce labor.
Friday morning I had a prenatal massage. There are a few trigger points that can induce labor that they normally avoid in pregnant women, however when you are full term many times a massage therapist will help you along if you want. My regular massage therapist got sick and I had a new woman who was great and relaxed me but she was terrified to touch any of the trigger points because she was afraid I would go into labor on her table. So I came home and ate a bean and beef burrito with green chiles and extra salsa because everybody says spicy food will get labor going. Then I went to the pool and did squats for a while. Nothing worked Friday so...
Saturday we went to the fair to walk and get some homemade ice cream. We walked around for about 45 minutes and it was just too hot so we sat on a bench in the shade eating ice cream then we left. That afternoon I was told by 3 people that eggplant parmesan will induce labor. I had never heard this but thought I would give it a shot, so Sunday lunch was eggplant parmesan with no luck. After church Sunday night we went back to the fair and walked for about 2 hours...and here I am blogging 12 hours later...not in the hospital, so I am now just going to chill out and wait for Ensley to decide she is ready.
My sister in law and nieces are coming to visit tomorrow night for a few days so I am going to clean house a little today...maybe this will trick Ensley into thinking I am nesting, ha!
