Sunday morning at church, our pastor made a comment that has made me ponder things in my life. He said, "Don't ask God 'why' in the bad times if you don't ask Him 'why' in the good times."
I don't often ask Him "why me?" when something goes wrong because I truly believe that His plan is bigger and better for the glory of His Kingdom and I believe His plans are to prosper and not to harm.
It is natural for me to ask "why me?" when something BIG comes along like a house that is great deal at just the right time or the perfect job at the perfect time or a husband who loves me and more importantly loves Him.
So why did Pastor's comment make me ponder? Because it made me realize how much I take for granted every day. I fail to wake up every day and ask God "why me?" concerning the everyday things that I don't deserve.
WHY have You given ME breath today? Thank you!
WHY did You protect ME in my car on the way to work? Thank you!
WHY have You provided an abundance of food for ME? Thank you!
WHY do You continually draw ME close to You despite my shortcomings? Thank you!
WHY have You given ME good health thus far? Thank you!
WHY have You blessed ME with an amazing family? Thank you!
WHY did You forgive ME? Thank you!
WHY did Jesus die for ME? Thank you!
Why don't His everyday blessings amaze me and leave me in awe every moment?...because I don't take time to reflect on His goodness every moment like I should. I would encourage you to sit back and reflect on His goodness in your life and I am sure you will quickly ask "why me God?!"
Congrats to me?
