Cabinets!

EJ and I went by the house today to measure the bonus room for furniture (and 'cause I wanted to see the cabinets). They were working on the kitchen and master bathroom while we were there. We didn't go look at the bathroom because we didn't want to crowd them but the kitchen looks awesome!

Painted!

EJ went by the house yesterday afternoon and they have the whole house painted!! The cabinets and sinks have been delivered and will be installed today :) As you can see from the first picture our driveway and porch have been poured. The brick/stone front still hasn't been fixed but we have been assured that it will be fixed and it will not delay closing.

22 Weeks

This one is a little delayed and so is almost a 23 week picture but nonetheless...here you go. This is actually a pre-maternity shirt but because of the way it hangs, it looks really cute as a maternity shirt. I am still feeling great. Ensley is still active and healthy. I can't believe I am more than half way through with the pregnancy. I am sure as I get bigger and the weather gets hotter, that it will feel like 40 more weeks from this point, but I am so thankful for such a great pregnancy thus far. I am so excited about meeting little Ensley, but I definitely want to wait until she is full term!

Busy Weekend

Last week, EJ's dad and supermom were here to relax and watch grandchildren and baseball. On Thursday, his step mom (MK) and sister (O) and I went nursery bedding shopping. My s-i-l gave us the bedding that she used for her little girls and it is really cute but E and I decided we wanted all pink in Ensley's room. O has four kids and she was super helpful with tips on what to splurge on and what to save on as far as car seats and such. We found some adorable bedding and one pattern in particular really caught our eye. I love the colors and the pattern. At first I was hesitant because it has little elephants on it, and I didn't want people to start buying Ensley elephants because they thought that was a theme that we liked. I decided to look around a little more because I wanted to make sure there wasn't something cuter out there.

Friday my mom drove up and we went to Louisville together for the Women of Joy conference. Friday night we heard Sarah Palin speak. This was not a political rally or partisan convention, it was a gathering of 16,000 women worshipping God. She did such a great job talking about her struggles as a mom, wife, VP candidate and how she relies on God and her faith to get her through the tough times. Here a couple of stories that were so precious:

She was saying that before her first VP debate she was looking for someone to pray with and the only person she could find that wasn't pre-occupied was her 7 year old daughter Piper. She asked Piper to pray with her and pray that God would speak through her. Her 7 year old daughter looked at her and said, "You want me to ask that GOD speak through you!?" She said, "Yes, honey." Piper replied, "Mom, that's cheating." How precious!!!

She was also talking about her struggles with their down syndrome baby Trigg. She said that she wondered why God would think that she could handle this, etc. She said that God has taught her so much through baby Trigg. She no longer sees perfection as the world does, but her blinders have been lifted and she's perfection through God's eyes. She said every morning, Trigg wakes up and rubs his sleepy eyes then looks around the room and applauds the new day. What a challenge for us!! How many mornings have I woken up frustrated from the troubles of the previous day and this precious little baby wakes up knowing that His mercies are new every morning.

That night, my brother and sister in law and their two sweet girls met us at the hotel on their way to Alabama. Then Saturday morning, mom and I went back to Women of Joy and heard some other encouraging and hilarious women and sang songs of worship with Charles Billingsley. Then we drove to Alabama for the remainder of the weekend. We had stopped at another baby store to look at bedding and nothing compared to the one I had seen with MK and O, so I took mom by the store and she really liked it too. Every time I looked at the picture I had taken on my phone it grew on me and by the time we made it back to the store, I just had to have it! O got it for us and I can't wait to be in the house now so we can set it up for little Ensley.

We spent the rest of the day playing with my nieces in Alabama. They are getting so big and grown! Ugh! I hate, hate, hate that we can't see them more often. Sunday we all went to church together. We don't get a chance to all get together very often. It seems like most of the time when we get together there is at least one person missing, so it was great having all of us there to visit.

Duke's on Vacation

We have been having problems with Duke since we moved into the townhouse. EJ would take him out before he left and he would go #1 and 2. Then when I wake up I take him out again and he would go #1 and/or #2. Then while I would be getting ready he would do one or the other in the house. I would come home and take him out and not an hour after going outside, he would use the bathroom in the house again! We started tying him up outside while I was getting ready but he would still come in the house and use the bathroom. My parents offered to let him stay at their house until we moved out of the townhouse. We were afraid we wouldn't get our $500 pet deposit back if he kept on messing the house. We bought a trolley for him and put it up while we were there this weekend that way they can let him run around in the morning while they are getting ready. Dad said his first day went well, and I hope it will continue. Kala thinks she is queen bee now that Duke is gone. I am not sure how we will handle him at the new house because I sure don't want him messing our new house!!

Speaking of the new house, I am meeting with one of the designers from corporate today to discuss what we expected the front of the house to look like and see if we can come to an agreement on what they will do to fix it. The inside is drywalled and I can't wait to get in it and settle down!!

Ensley Kate Wood

As you can see we have decided on a name!!! I love referring to her as Ensley rather than she or her or Baby Wood.
Also as you can see from my picture at week 21 I look pregnant now! All of my pants are now maternity except one pair of jeans. I can still wear some of my shirts that are longer but at the rate I'm growing now I won't for much longer. I think some days I can feel her growing...ha! Yesterday I swear when I took my shirt off after work it was tighter than when I put it on that morning.
She gets pretty active late afternoon and sometimes late at night if I stay up too late. When I feel her kicking around I tell EJ and he grins real big...it's so cute! I can't wait for him to be able to feel her kick.
I bought her a little 0-6 month tutu and ballerina slippers yesterday...not because I want her to dance or because I think she will inherit any kind of rhythm from me, but just because I think every little girl should have a tutu and the slippers came with it...ha!

Beat those Red Devils!...I mean...yeah, that's what I meant!

This is a picture of my old softball field. My freshman year it looked a lot like an old sandlot in a cow pasture. We worked on the field everyday before and after practice and we had workdays on Saturdays to make it what it is today. Every year the coach would get money from the boosters to improve it a little more. Now they have lights, a brick backstop, a bathroom and concession stand. Last year he sunk the dugouts and the field looks amazing! It brings back so many memories to go see it and brings up so much pride to know that I helped build it.
Last weekend we went back home and EJ's baseball team played the school where I played. I thought it was going to be strange cheering against them but I have been out of school so long that I didn't know any of the boys playing anyway. Actually I coached one of their freshmen in church league basketball when he was in K-1st grade!! That made me feel super old! Anyway, it turned out to be super fun cheering against them and EJ's Purple Tigers pulled out the win!! I was so proud of him all weekend and the way he handled situations and coached those boys. I hope to make that trip an annual event.
