Thankful-Day 4

I am thankful everyday but I just haven't had time to post everyday. Today I am thankful for my church family. I have been so blessed all of my life with men, women and peers who have encouraged me and prayed for me along the journey of my life. I grew up in such a loving church home. I don't make it home often but when I go home the highlight of my trip is always seeing those familiar faces and getting warm hugs from them. When I went to college God blessed me again with a great church family. I met some of my best friends there and I can't imagine my life without them now. They encourage me and pray for me and are transparent in their struggles. When EJ and I were married we struggled to find where God wanted us but when we settled we were again blessed with a family of believers who walked with us during our first few years of married life. We are now in a church home with a pastor who is not ashamed to live what he believes and who encourages us to do the same. We are blessed with the children's ministry and we never have to wonder if Ensley is being loved on while in the nursery. All of our church families feel like extended families and we are so thankful for the example set by many of them and the encouragement given by all of them.

I forget how big I am blessed

O God-when I have food,
Help me to remember the hungry;
When I have work,
Help me to remember the jobless;
When I have a warm home,
Help me to remember the homeless;
When I am without pain,
Help me to remember those who suffer;
And remembering
Help me to destroy my complacency,
And bestir my compassion.
Make me concerned enough to help,
By word and deed, those who cry out-
For what we take for granted.

Thankful-Day 3

I am thankful for my husband. I am thankful for all the memories we share even back to junior high. I am thankful that he continues to forgive me and love me despite me. I am thankful for the awesome daddy he is and I love watching him play with Ensley and take care of her. I am thankful he loves God more than he loves me.

Thankful-Day 2

I am thankful for the roof over my head. I am thankful I don't have to worry about a warm place to lay my head each night. I am thankful for the garage attached to my house so I can get Ensley in and out of the car without both of us getting drenched or being cold during the chilly fall and winter months. I am thankful we have extra room in our home to allow friends and family to stay with us. I am thankful for childproof locks made for every type of door, lid and cabinet that allow Ensley to roam around the house more freely without me constantly worrying about her.

Halloween

Over the weekend Ensley's eyes started running and were red and puffy so I took her to the doctor Monday morning. She has an eye and ear infection but you wouldn't have known anything was wrong by her attitude. She is such a happy child 99% of the time.
When we came home she wanted to dress up her in Tennessee cheerleader outfit so of course I let her ;)
Then she wanted to dress up in her butterfly costume that JoJo sent her so we changed into that before daddy came home. She didn't really care for the head piece but she liked the wings.
Since she was sick we didn't take her trick or treating that night, which is ok because I would have eaten the candy and I surely don't need it.
Hopefully next Halloween will be a little more fun for her.

Thankful-Day 1

I am thankful today for my job. In an economy where many people are searching desperately for any job, I am blessed to have not just any job but a job I enjoy. Even on the days where I feel like I could scream in frustration I still love what I do as a health care professional. I am thankful for the great staff I work with and the flexibility of my partner to switch days at the last minute when Ensley gets sick.
