Nine Months

Ensley turned nine months last Monday. I can't believe how much faster the last nine months have gone by in comparison to the nine months of the pregnancy. I was watching her play Tuesday morning before her check-up and it is unbelievable to me that nine months ago she just laid helplessly in a bassinet all day waiting to be fed. Nine months later she lays in her crib only to sleep, then stands up calling for us to come get her (not by name of course though). We can hardly get her to eat now because all she wants to do is get down and explore. Three months ago all she wanted to do was open wide for her next bite because that was the newest most exciting thing in her life. She is growing so fast!!!
During her check up on Tuesday, she was 28 inches long (75%), 18 lbs (50%), and her head circumference is 18 inches (90%). The pediatrician also spotted her first ear infection. She did not have a fever and had not been tugging or fussing...bless her heart, she is such a good baby! So we have started on her first antibiotic. My mom was amazed that she just opened up wide for her dose of medicine, and I don't know any different. I just assumed that the majority of children do that, but apparently Ensley is the minority.
The week before last she finally had her bottom two teeth break through. Again, never fussy or irritable. They have come out enough now that you can see them and they are so cute!!
Like I said earlier, all she wants to do is move around now. It is difficult to change her diaper or her clothes because she just wants to move. She is cruising around the couch and coffee table and crawling everywhere!
When she wakes up from her Sunday afternoon nap, we are taking her to the pool for the first time. We are so excited!! Stay tuned for pictures!

Play Ball!

Ensley's favorite toy is a soft plush ball that my sister-in-law had handmade for her. She carries it everywhere and when she is crawling she let's it roll with her under her chest. It is too cute.
Around Easter her favorite thing was a pink softball her Jojo gave her when she was born. And at school they said she claims this little spiky squishy ball everyday and that she has even fallen asleep laying her head on it.
It looks like we have a natural born athlete!!

Arts & Crafts with Kala

Kala has been so good lately and she seems much calmer now as she is getting older so we decided it was safe to leave her out during our shorter excursions. Every time we have come home the house has been fine and she doesn't act like she has been up to anything. So we thought it was a success.
Well apparently she has been working on an arts and crafts project upstairs. This afternoon I saw a bag of crayons and glue sticks that I bought for a nickel a piece in the middle of the office floor. I assumed EJ had gotten something out of it to take to school and then got distracted by Ensley. Then I took something into the front guest room where Kala likes to stand guard at the window and I found a pack of crayons and two gluesticks on the bed. At first I thought that was strange and couldn't possibly imagine what EJ had been up to. Then I saw the little nest where Kala had been laying. Luckily she wasn't too far along in her project because the box of crayons and glue sticks weren't opened..shew! That would have been a fine mess to clean up.
So I guess it is back to the kennel for a little while longer. At least she likes it...the other day when we opened the garage door she ran right in the kennel. We had to get her out with a treat. Funny girl!

Ensley's First Easter

Waiting to see the Easter Bunny

Checking out her first Easter basket

Daddy's GirlDoesn't she look big?!

This Easter has been extra special for me. Not just because we have Ensley to share it with but because I understand God's sacrifice of His one and only Son now in a way that I couldn't understand before. God's love for me and all of the world has always overwhelmed me. Now having a daughter of our own I understand what that kind of love is and how much God must really love me to give up his Son so that I could live. WOW! God is soo good!!

Happy Easter! He is risen!!!

See What She's Been Doing

Daddy came in after laying her down for a napand found her sitting up in the crib...so we took out the bassinet. Big girl! She started on the playmat in the background and crawled over to me to tell me bye. Sweet baby! Now she pretty much crawls wherever she wants and is trying to pull herself up when she reaches her destination.
Enjoying a beautiful day at the zoo with Aunt Misty, Chali and Karis. More pictures to come.
We just got our new computer today so hopefully I will get some pictures from the camera on here soon.
